MMS

The Mountain Medicine Summits (MMS) are special gatherings hosted in collaboration with indigenous elders, teachers, and healers from the traditions that inspire our work. These events offer a unique opportunity to learn directly from wisdom keepers while engaging with the therapeutic application of medicine practices in an immediate and experiential way. Each Summit is designed as a learning space where participants can explore the intersection of traditional knowledge and contemporary healing practice. We study the techniques, rituals, and perspectives that form the foundation of the Mountain Medicine Method, while reflecting on how these can be applied ethically in modern contexts such as therapy, counseling, coaching, and community health. Our aim is twofold: to maintain a living, reciprocal relationship with our teachers, honouring the lineages that shape this work, and to create a community of practice where we collectively explore the ancestral practices that define our way of working. Summits are offered several times per year, each with a unique focus, inviting practitioners and seekers alike to deepen their connection to medicine traditions, strengthen their own practice, and contribute to a shared culture of healing.

About

PURPOSE

Why this offering.

The Mountain Medicine Summits are collaborative intensives designed around specific healing modalities and traditions that inform our Mountain Medicine work. Each Summit is an opportunity to take a deep dive into a particular practice or lineage, guided by experienced elders and healers from our extended network. These gatherings offer participants a chance to study, experience, and reflect on the rituals, ceremonies, and therapeutic “technologies” that shape our approach to health and wellbeing. Some Summits include direct interaction with entheogenic medicines in a safe and guided context, while others focus on cultural practices, ceremonial forms, or therapeutic applications that support healing and integration.

At their core, the Summits create a living bridge between indigenous wisdom and modern therapeutic practice: honoring tradition, fostering reciprocity with our teachers, and supporting participants to integrate these approaches into their personal and professional paths.

PEOPLE

Who is this for.

The Mountain Medicine Summits are designed for those who have already engaged with our work and feel called to go deeper. They are especially suited for participants who:

  • Wish to deepen their connection to the medicine traditions and practices introduced in our programs.

  • Are ready to engage in a focused exploration of specific healing modalities, ceremonies, or cultural practices.

  • Want to strengthen their personal work by learning directly from indigenous elders, healers, and teachers.

  • Feel called to explore the therapeutic application of these traditions in their own healing, or in support of others.

  • Seek to be part of a reciprocal learning community that honors indigenous knowledge and carries it forward

PRACTICE

What’s included in the program.

Each Mountain Medicine Summit is shaped by the teacher and tradition at its center. Practices vary depending on the lineage and type of transmission but may include:

  • Ceremonial teachings – receiving direct instruction in ritual, prayer, and cultural practices.

  • Healing modalities – exploring specific approaches such as energy work, sound healing, or entheogenic medicine ceremonies (where appropriate and legal).

  • Guided practices – experiential learning through breath, movement, meditation, or plant-based traditions.

  • Community council – sharing circles to reflect on experience and integrate insights in dialogue with others.

  • Contextual study – understanding the cultural, historical, and ethical foundations of the practice.

  • Integration support – grounding experiences into daily life and professional or personal practice.

No two Summits are the same: the practices are chosen in exchange with the teacher or healer who guides the gathering, ensuring authenticity and respect for their lineage.
